Coiled Kyanite Earrings

I leaned into the curves on this pair, starting with an idea but letting the wire lead the way. It ended up somewhere different, but better, which feels on-theme for this show.

Oxidized copper with bright blue kyanite is a contrast I come back to often. I tend to work a lot with blues and browns, and I like this palette because it’s a little unexpected but works really well. The blue really pops against the darker, textured metal, which I polished just a bit to bring out the wirework. Deciding whether or not to oxidize my wire usually feels like a fork in the road, but this one was an easy call. The ear wires are my own, embellished with the kyanite as well.

They measure about 1 ¾” in length and weigh around 3g.
